Boise State looked really good yesterday.

I love Bowl Season.

There's some good football going on today.  Arkansas and Texas A&M is close right now.  Just finished watching Illinois and Northwestern.  That was a good game, too.  They're more exciting when they're close.

Thank God football is back! College started up this weekend, and the pros aren't far behind. I love September.

I think Colt McCoy's gonna have a pretty good season.

I'm so glad the strike is over and football is back.  Can't wait for the regular season.  Until then, I'll tune into as many preseason games as I can.

Washington beat USC?  Damn, that totally messes up my picks.  That's one crazy upset.

Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren says the team has no plans to play Texas quarterback Colt McCoy as a rookie after selecting him in the third round of the NFL draft.

Though Cleveland fans may already be clamoring to see McCoy play, Holmgren cautions that it would be a mistake to put him on the field before he's ready.

Holmgren said he made a phone call to the Rams 20 minutes before the draft began on Thursday and offered a package for the No. 1 pick.

Instead, he waited it out and took McCoy 85th. Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford was chosen first overall by St. Louis.

Holmgren said he made the offer to Rams general manager Billy Devaney "at the limits of what I was willing to do."

Holmgren says Devaney "finally said we're going to take him [Bradford]." Holmgren would not specify what he offered the Rams.

Holmgren, who has coached Hall of Famers Joe Montana and Steve Young and Brett Favre, said teams run the risk of "scarring" a young quarterback by playing him too soon.

Cleveland signed free agent Jake Delhomme during the offseason as its starter and acquired Seneca Wallace from Seattle to be his backup.

A couple weeks ago, there were 2 NFL teams that looked like they had a real good chance of finishing the season undefeated.  Now there are none.  The New York Jets beat the Indianapolis Colts today.  Good bye perfection, hello heartbreak.  The kicker is that the loss came with some of the Colts' star players on the sidelines.  How are you going to win when Peyton Manning isn't leading the charge?  Definitely NOT the choice I would have made!
